Some people know what Multiboxing is. You may not. Don’t worry about it. Some people like it, some people hate it. Like, REALLY hate it. Anyone who has regularly visited the WoW forums, especially about 6 months ago, probably saw a few hundred threads explode whenever multiboxing was discussed. My articles will specifically discuss multiboxing in WoW, because that’s what I play and I’d have to invent information about other games.
If I invented information about other games, it would involve monkeys. Lots of monkeys. You would learn nothing other than how horrible it is reading about monkeys for 37 pages straight and I would lose my super-duper-awesome posting abilities. So I won’t do that.
In short, multiboxing is when you play multiple characters at once. I, for example, play 4 warlocks simultaneously. It is both awesome and ridiculous. Sometimes it is ridiculously awesome.
I’ll go into details about how to do it, so for example “Hardware multiboxing vs. Software multiboxingâ€, or what the basic system requirements are. I also want to spend some time discussing the ethics of multiboxing, hopefully from an unbiased perspective, although I make no promises. I plan on discussing PvP vs. PvE, and also role-playing. To the best of my knowledge, I’m the only role-playing multiboxer.
That makes me the biggest geek in my peer group. Well, except for that one person who plays 32 shamans simultaneously. Yeah, you heard me. 32. Shamans. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not looking down on him/her for doing it; it must be incredibly difficult to set up and maintain. But “32 shaman geekness†> “Role-playing Multiboxer geeknessâ€
So stay tuned. I don’t even know what’s going to happen, and I’m me. So it’s sure to be entertaining.
In closing, a vote for me is a vote for 37 pages about monkeys. Wait, what?
